Deputy Devin Hodges Family Support

It is with heavy hearts that we report the tragic passing of Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy Devin Hodges. Deputy Hodges was killed Thursday, June 1, 2017, in a boating accident while participating in a joint Marine patrol training exercise with the Army Corps of Engineers.

Deputy Hodges (30) served as a law enforcement officer for more than eight years and was best known for his tremendous work ethic and his dedication to his family. He leaves behind a loving wife, Krystal, and four adoring children under the age of 10, two of which have special needs.

Please help us support this family as they attempt to cope with the devastating and unexpected loss of their primary protector and provider. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to Deputy Hodges' family.

Deputy Devin Hodges, Anderson County Sheriff's Office, End of Watch 6/1/2017.
Since 1997, the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association has offered an in-the-line of duty death benefit, paid to the spouse or parent of a slain Sheriff or Sheriff’s Deputy. Regrettably, this benefit has been used numerous times since its inception. In fact, more than 20 deputies have sacrificed their lives in the protection of their communities since we began to offer this benefit, and we have paid $190,000 in benefits. Our death benefit in no way takes away the pain of such a loss, but it does relieve, in the aftermath of such a tragedy, the stress of immediate financial needs. Often times, this benefit is used to cover the unexpected costs of funeral expenses.

This benefit is entirely funded by caring, concerned supporters of law enforcement, like yourself. We would ask that you prayerfully consider becoming a Fallen Heroes Partner of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association and commit to providing financial resources for these fallen heroes.  Rest assured that every penny of the proceeds collected from this program will go directly to the family of those Sheriff’s Deputies who bravely lay their lives down in protection their fellow man.
