A tremendous thanks to everyone who put together, supported, and attended the Gift of Music benefit concert for Denise! We were delighted by the turnout and by the warmth and generosity demonstrated by everyone who came out for Denise. Everyone did a fantastic job and had a great time!

Denise Parr was my beloved piano teacher from the time I was 6 until I was 18. She made me the musician I am today. She has always been incredibly selfless, caring for the many animals and people in her life without complaint. Denise was so important to me that when I was in my 20s, I chose to come back to take lessons from her again. She has always been more than a mentor to me. She is a dear friend to me and my family.
However, Denise's selflessness has taken a physical toll on her. For years now she has been silently struggling with severe carpal tunnel (causing nerve damage and nerve pain), arthritis, and bone spurs. Yet despite all this, she continues to not only accompany and play demonstrations for her students, but also play professionally. While she rarely mentions it, Denise suffers chronic pain from these conditions, which worsens when she plays. As a fellow musician, it pains me to know that Denise is in such pain just from doing what she loves: playing the piano and flute.
Stem cell treatments, surgery, and medication can help, but these treatments strain the budget of a piano teacher, especially an animal lover like Denise. Since she has been self-employed all her life, she has never been able to afford insurance. Fortunately, Denise has touched so many lives over the decades that I just know that we can help ease her financial burden and get her the medical attention she needs so that she can play without pain--something she hasn't been able to do for years.
