new baby on the way!

My husband, Alex, and I decided to start trying for a baby over the summer and much to our surprise, we got pregnant on the second try in early August. We were ecsatic and scared! After eight weeks I started feeling sick - cramping, bloating, dizzy. I called my doctor and, thinking that my symptoms were normal, she advised me to rest and eat protein. After three seizures at home we decided to head to the hospital to see what was up. I had a fourth seizure in the ER's triage bay and was rushed back to a room. The ER doc sent me to have a vaginal ultrasound and it was discovered that my pregnancy had been ectopic, in my fallopian tube, and my tube had ruptured. This was totally unbearable news. We were immediately broken hearted. Devastated. Shocked. Angry. They took me into surgery and removed my entire tube and 1.8 liters of blood from my abdomen. The bloating I thought I had been having that morning was actually blood seeping into my abdomen from the rupture.

After spending four days in the hospital and having a few minor complications with recovery I was cleared to start trying to get pregnant again. This was welcome news but we were still nervous and reluctant to try.

Our God is an AWESOME God. He gives and he takes away. By his mercy and grace I am now pregnant again! As we enter this exciting time we have obvious concerns that we are going into parenthood with debt leftover from losing our first baby.
