Ashleigh’s Recovery Fund
Ashleigh has recently been in a life threatening truck/camper accident that has left her with severe injuries, no place to live and a lost cat.
She went to Tofino for the summer to work and live, but after sustaining a minor concussion due to an unhealthy relationship, she was left with little money and an unstable living situation, for her, her dog Sombrio and cat Buddha.
Finally, it seemed that things might be looking up when she found a truck and camper for sale that could perfectly accommodate her and her pets. Tragically, on her way back to Tofino after buying the truck, she and her two animals were thrown off the road when the camper became dislodged from the back of the truck, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.
Unfortunately, as a result of the accident, both the truck and camper were severely damaged, leaving Ashleigh again without a home. She was taken to the Port Alberni hospital, sustained a brain injury to her frontal lobe, a major concussion and received injuries to her face, jaw, and wrist. Adding to Ashleigh's grief, Buddha, her cat, was in the camper when the accident happened, and has not yet been found.
Ashleigh will not be able to recoup the money lost on the truck and camper, and will not be able to work immediately, due to her injuries. She has no insurance to cover any vet bills, physio therapy or mental health and trauma therapy, which she will need to properly recover from the accident. Ashleigh was also diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder earlier this year, and struggles with a lot of mental health issues as is. Her animals are her biggest supporters, and not being able to take care of them or herself has been impeding her healing.
Ashleigh is an intelligent, caring, wonderful girl who truly loves all kinds of people. She finds the most joy in life from helping others, and making them smile. This has also been a large contributor as to why she is studying psychology at the university of Victoria. She has big dreams to one day open her own facility, to take care of those in need and to help them with their own mental health. In hopes to make her dreams come true she will need all the help that she can get right now.
I know that she hates having to ask for this kind of help but truly any donation would be so sincerely appreciated. Ashleigh has had an incredibly hard few months and any money to help her get back on her feet would be most gratefully received. We hope to use the donations to not only help Ashleigh recover from the trauma, but also to pay for veterinarian bills and therapy for her animals as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any donations made.
Your kindness means the world :)
