Dave Scott’s Brain Hemorrhage Recovery

On July 27th, Dave wasn’t able to form words, walk, hold himself up, or remember anything.

He was admitted to the hospital. We received a call from his doctor stating that Dave is suffering from a brain hemorrhage and is in ICU.

The good news is, there is no need for surgery. The bad news is, the bleed is in the most critical part of his brain, called the basal ganglia.

A blood vessel in his basal ganglia ruptured and now there’s bleeding in his brain. The basal ganglia is responsible primarily for motor control, as well as other roles such as motor learning, executive functions, behaviors, memory, and emotions. Damage to the basal ganglia cells can cause problems controlling speech, movement, memory, and posture.

At this very moment, we can’t pinpoint exactly what caused this, but Dave has been struggling high blood pressure for years. We believe this might have possibly caused the brain hemorrhage.

Right now, all we can do is PRAY & monitor the bleeding.

We don’t know the extent of the damage but with most types of stroke, basal ganglia stroke is possible to recover from, especially when a consistent rehabilitation plan is followed. By exposing the brain to repetitive stimulus, you can help spark neuroplasticity to rewire the brain and regain lost functions.
