In Honor of Dave Edwards ( Family Memorial funds)
Donazione protetta
One month ago on this day Dave Edwards, the living legend transitioned and we lost a beloved man. Many people talk about him as one of the best to do it at the point guard position from Queens or simply NYC in its entirety. Watching people acknowledging him as the living legend when they saw him brought a smile to my heart (mainly because he hated it); they should also recognize him as an incredible man; loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother nephew, cousin; loyal friend; and committed coach and co-worker. His love for basketball and the youth transcended and surpassed normalcy and he showed it. So many people can say “Coach Dave did so much for me; spent so much time with me; taught me more than basketball; gave so much of himself to me and my child”. I have received so many calls asking how can people show their love and support for his family; the kind he gave to so many. Those who know Dave and his family, know that they are very private and humble. I had to assure that this would be seen as a way for so many of us who owe so much to Dave as a way we can simply pay it forward to the family, we know he loves (not loved) so much. He shared his love of basketball with the youth of this community and was revered for his own skills both on and off the court. Dave Edwards was a man who enjoyed and lived his life and will be incredibly missed by us all. Please keep his family in your thoughts as they brave this difficult time. Please take this as an opportunity to honor his memory for all he did, and for who he was to us all. All funds raised will go to his family; sons, David and Corey; wife, Phenrisa Gilliam; grandchildren Dillan and Dallas.
In loving memory and honor of our dearest Brother….my Beloved Dave…missing him every day.
