Darwin Cycling Club: Back Matt at MTB World Champs
Donation protected
Darwin Cycling Club is calling on our community to get behind one of our own.
Matt King has earned selection to represent Australia at the 2025 MTB Marathon World Championships in Switzerland this September – making him the first elite MTB rider from the Northern Territory to achieve this since Cadel Evans.
This incredible opportunity is fully self-funded, meaning Matt must personally cover all flights, accommodation, team fees, and equipment costs to make it to the start line. For a rider balancing family, business, and elite-level training, that’s a huge load to carry alone.
As a club, we believe no athlete should miss out on representing Australia because of cost. That’s why Darwin Cycling Club has launched this fundraiser to help Matt get to Worlds and proudly put Darwin on the international cycling map.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 (stretch goal $20,000) to help cover the trip so Matt can focus on what matters most – training, racing, and representing the NT and Australia on the world stage.
Whether you can give $10 or $500, every donation helps. Sharing this link is just as valuable. Let’s show the strength of our Darwin cycling community and rally behind Matt.
✅ All funds raised will go directly towards covering the costs of Matt’s World Championship campaign.
Thank you for helping us send one of our own from Darwin to the World Championships.
