For our beautiful Danika
If you know Danika, you know she is one of the sweetest, kindest, and most generous souls you will ever meet. She is gentle, thoughtful, hilarious (even when the jokes are terrible), and the person everyone turns to in hard times. She is a daughter, a sister, a friend, a mother, a safe place, and a steady shoulder to cry on.
But above all else, Danika is a single mum to her beautiful, kind three-year-old boy, Alexander. And she is ready to fight with everything she has for him, and for all of us, because we need her here.
Danika has always been the light at the end of the tunnel. Our rock, our comfort, and our calm. Now it is our turn to be the strength she needs as she faces the fight of her life.
Anyone who knows her will tell you the same: she gives endlessly. she pours her entire heart into raising her little boy. Every single day, she gives, and now it’s time for us to give back to her.
On the 20th of November 2025, we received the heart-breaking news that our beautiful Danika, at just 33 years old, has stage-four cancer. As of today, the 25th of November, she has already undergone multiple surgeries and will begin chemotherapy in the next two weeks.
As a family, as friends, and as a community, we are devastated. And yet, true to who she is, Danika continues to stay strong for us. She is terrified, but she still checks on everyone else before herself. That is exactly who she is.
While we remain hopeful and determined, we want Danika to focus entirely on her treatment and recovery, not on the overwhelming financial strain that comes with cancer. This fundraiser will help cover out-of-pocket medical costs, alternative therapies, support services, medical supplies, ongoing travel costs and the many unexpected expenses that no one should have to face alone.
