Our family is facing an incredibly difficult time. Most recently, our 11-year-old son, Braden, had a serious accident at our local park. While swinging, the chain snapped and he was thrown 21 feet, knocking him unconscious. EMTs rushed him to the ER, where a chest x-ray came back clear, but a CT scan revealed a concussion and a problem with his brain. Since then, he has had two additional MRIs and is waiting on a third. The surgeon requested urgent MRIs to determine the next steps, and the results are very concerning. When he fell, his brain was pushed out of place, now blocking the flow of spinal fluid and causing significant damage to his spinal cord. Braden will need brain surgery soon, and we are waiting to hear how his spine injury will affect his treatment.
On top of this, my husband has been out of work since March 2nd with a back injury that will also require surgery. He is starting epidural shots and physical therapy to see if that helps before scheduling surgery. With both Braden and my husband facing major medical challenges, our family is struggling to keep up with medical expenses, travel for treatment, hotel stays, and time off work for surgery.
We are keeping our faith in the Lord during this time, but we also need the support of our family, friends, and community. We need our village during this time. Please keep us in your prayers, and if you are able, your support—whether through donations, sharing our story, or words of encouragement—would mean the world to us.
