Daniel / Daddy / Dan / Danny / Danno / Dan the Man / Uncle Dan....
No matter what you called him, Daniel Kemp was an amazing husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, "fun"cle, and friend. And he was taken from us way too soon.
Daniel passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021, with his beloved wife, Juliann, holding his hand. He lost his battle against prostate cancer after fighting bravely and tirelessly for a year.
Dan lived in New Milford his entire life, and graduated from New Milford High School, Class of 1980. He worked tirelessly for decades as a Funeral Director’s Assistant. He took pride in respectfully supporting grieving families. Dan had many friends and touched many lives. He would go out of his way to help anyone, with anything, at any time. Dan was a loving and doting husband to his wife, Juli, and a loving and proud father to his daughter, Elizabeth. Dan was kind, gentle, loving, and tons of fun to be around. He had a huge appetite for family, friends, fun, and food! To know him was to love him.
Dan’s fight to overcome his battle with cancer had many challenges. We learned that Dan was a carrier of the BRCA2 gene. This gene typically causes breast cancer in women, but in men it can cause prostate cancer. Because of Dan’s BRCA2 gene, his cancer was extra difficult to fight. His last battle landed him in the hospital for 39 days. During his stay he had multiple tests, scans, treatments, and therapies. While at Englewood Hospital, he received amazingly thorough care from his doctors, and tons of love and support from his nurses.
Cancer is relentless.
Cancer sucks.
And to add insult to injury, the fight against cancer and all its battles add financial burden. Please consider giving a gift to help ease the financial burden placed upon us at this difficult time. No gift is too small and all gifts will be greatly appreciated. The funds raised here will go to paying off the massive medical bills that are piling up from Dan’s final fight. After medical bills are paid, any additional funds raised will be donated to support those struggling with prostate cancer and to provide prostate cancer awareness.
