Dana White's horiffic MVA Medical Expenses

Donazione protetta
We all love and care for Dana White who was in a horrible car accident on Tuesday night Jan. 26, 2021.  He slid on black ice and flipped his car several times and was ejected from his vehicle. He is now in the ICU with a severe cervical spine injury and other numerous extensive injuries both internally and externally.  He needs multiple emergency surgeries, but was not stable enough to go in for surgery that night.  He was on a ventilator fighting for his life, and the healthcare team were successful by doing everything they could to keep him stable through the night! With COVID restrictions the family can not all be there to hold his hand and tell him that they love him.  But we know God is there no matter what and hears every thought and prayer.  There is so much power in a single prayer and the family wants to thank everyone that have kept them in there prayers and thoughts.  Today Dana did talk for the first time.

The family is so thankful for all of their family and friends, but as we all know this will be quite and expensive journey for them.  I am asking you to help if you can in anyway so they will not have the burden of a large medical bill at then end of Dana's recovery.

UPDATE FROM TRINA
Update on my dad:
The doctors said he is extremely lucky and his case is a complete miracle. He has a shattered C2 and a fractured C3, which should have completely severed his spinal cord and permanently paralyzed him but his spinal cord was spared from what doctors can see on his scans, which is nearly impossible in cases like his. Several other vertebrae were fractured all the way down his back. Just some of the other injuries that he has include:
Clavical fracture
8 broken ribs bilaterally
Traumatic brain injury
Brain hemorrhage and multiple hematomas
Deep head laceration; extends anterior to posterior
Lung contusions with pneumonia and sepsis
Renal infarct with internal bleeding
Ocular trauma
Just too many to list. However, my dad has continued to use every bit of strength within him to fight for his life. He has been able to continuously move all of his extremities, which gives us hope that he could come out of this without permanent paralysis. Yesterday morning the neurosurgeon determined that my dad was stable enough to go back immediately for surgery. Because of the extent of the damage to his cervical spine, they had to fuse C1-C4 and had to sever his C2 nerve root, which means he will lose almost all neck movement abilities as well as head/neck sensation and other potential motor function deficits. They also debrided and deep cleaned his head laceration and re-stapled since my dad is now high risk for meningitis/staph infections. My dad did very well in surgery and maintained movement in his extremities afterwards. Today, he passed his spontaneous breathing test and was extubated and is currently breathing on his own. He is awake off and on and talks/responds to commands. He is nowhere close to being out of the woods, but the major injuries have been stabilized for the most part. I want to take the time to personally thank every single one of you for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. We are beyond blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives who care so much about my dad. He has a long journey ahead of him but my dad has always shown us that it’s okay to fall as long as you keep crawling and eventually get up again, and this is no exception. We will post updates as we know more, but for now keep him in your prayers as he continues to fight ❤️
UPDATE FROM TRINA 1/29/2021
Hi friends,
I don’t have a lot of time to post lots of updates, but this one’s important. My dad was agitated and restless throughout the night. This morning he was on 6 liters of oxygen and maintaining his own airway. I got a call from the doctor that he’s now on 60 liters of warmed high flow oxygen and he’s down to 80% O2 and still dropping. So he has gone back now to be intubated and put back on the ventilator. I’m sure a feeding tube will be placed for nutrition. Doctors said it’s a goal for him to eventually come off the ventilator, but we just don’t know if he can or will sustain off of one. Please pray. That’s all I ask right now. I’ll update when we know more.
