Dan Waun Memorial Foundation, Inc.

Many of you will know that I am a sincere friend of Dan Waun and over the years he has been like a father to me and a friend and mentor to many others.   He taught me about manufacturing, investing, and real estate and I know he did the same for many of you.  He has been a true friend that I know his Family, friends and acquaintances will dearly miss.

 

I lost my father at 21 years old to Cancer as well and watched this same disease that has taken Dan's life after an amazing fight that we all know only Dan could sustain. I wanted to find an awesome way to remember and honor our friend.

 

Several of us wanted to present  a proposal to Dan personally however his condition deteriorated quickly and we were unable to tell him before he passed away. 

Several of us thought that if we had a group of leaders of Industry as a board of directors that sought nominations for a manufacturing engineer that showed  the passion, desire and the ability to deliver like Dan showed all of us it would be a fitting memorial to a man that we all will miss dearly.

The Dan Waun Memorial Foundation, Inc. has been established to annually nominate, select and honor manufacturing engineer that exhibits Dan Wauns behaviors with a plaque recognizing the individual and displaying Dan's name and his image in recognition of their efforts and behaviors.   A board of directors has been recruited from several companies, and an automotive retiree for governance and to ensure we can make Danny live forever through recognition of this foundation.  

The intent is to have this Go Fund Me page to raise enough funds through its interest and principle to pay for the annual award.   The Articles of incorporation state the in the event the foundation is dissolved for some reason all remaining funds will be donated to a reputable Cancer Charity in Dan's Name selected by the Board.
 
The Foundation will have no paid members and only use the funds to ensure compliance and fund the awards.  All Members are acting as personal individuals and not in any way as representatives of their employers.

No Donations are Tax deductible as the Foundation has not and will not seek 501C3 status to expedite the fundraising.

The Corporation has been created, has an EIN number, the articles of incorporation are complete, the initial by laws have been created, and the establishment of a corporate bank account will be completed shortly.

This will be the only fundraiser and the Principle and Its interest will ensure that this endeavor will last for many years.
