Our friend, Olga Slepchenko, is currently on a plane to assist her dad in what has turned out to be a very difficult situation.
Olga's father spent years supporting his daughter through nursing school. Now after spending years paying for school through school loans to become a nurse that would allow her to dedicate her life helping people heal, Olga found out her father has become one of her first patients after graduation.
He is in dire need of healthcare assistance and she currently does not have the financial means to help him.
He cannot survive without surgery, and the cost of this surgery is close to $50,000 (see below). Therefore, I am reaching out to all of you for financial assistance, no matter how small to help fund this activity.
He was just diagnosed with advanced cancer. They did not detect it earlier because he was misdiagnosed by his doctors . They treated his “sciatica” pain; all the while he was hurting from metastasis to his bone. Six months later, they realize the mistake they made, but now so much damage has occurred.
As the situation caught the family off guard they are in the process of liquidating their assets as fast as possible to help him, but are afraid they will not be able to raise the money for his health care fast enough. Therefore we are asking for financial help, even of the smallest donations. And even if you cannot donate at this time, if you can pass along this request in your social media it would greatly be appreciated.

“Hi! If you are reading this that means you are my friend. This is not spam, it’s me Olga, Olgy, Olgis writing to you. My dad just got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (prostate possibly). He was misdiagnosed in Russia, they treated his “sciatica” pain while he was hurting from metastasis to his bone. Six months later, they found out the cause only too late. He does not have good insurance; he is in Russia where they are not giving him pain pills while he is in agony. All I want is to take him to Israel for palliative surgery but it costs almost $50 000. The situation caught me off guard, with drained savings account after grad school, just start of a new job. And no, he doesn’t have any American citizenship, because I let him talk me into never getting one since he was active back home, so I cannot bring him here. I was selfish enough to believe that he is going to live to age 100 or at least 75. He is going to die at the age of 58. Great artist (he painted), beautiful soul. I plan to sell all of my jewelry, probably a house in Russia but unfortunately, I cannot gather money fast enough. So I am asking you, my friends, for help. Any amount of money (really any) is appreciated. {You can donate directly here or contact me for my bank information} Again, it is really me writing the letter. I am leaving for Russia this Wednesday, so if you feel like messaging, please do. I have 16 hours of hell ahead of me, having an anxiety attack from every phone call, hoping it’s not the last one. Also please If you religious beliefs let you, say a prayer for me, him and my poor family. And also hug whoever you love very tight tonight. I wish you all to be well, never ever to know this pain, never ever write such a letter. Love you always, Olga.
P.S. if it’s a large sum, I swear to return it. I plan to sell some property in Russia.”
[Notes: Olga recently graduated from the Nurse Practitioner program, was out of a job post graduation for 6 months, and was to start a new job in two months, but returned to Russia to help her father. ]
