Culkins Family

Dear Nantucket Community,

A heartbreaking tragedy has struck one of Nantucket’s own. On the early morning of Friday, April 12, Ernie “Butch” Culkins passed away from a heart attack. He was a loving husband to Jayne and father to four incredible children, Ashley, James, Margaret and Michael. While he ran his own heating repair company, he never missed a chance to spend time with his family and friends. You could find him on a playing field, in an ice rink, on the golf course, or sitting at a bar rehashing the play by plays. He was their rock and now they need to endure life without him.

If you know Jayne, you know that she will struggle through this time with amazing strength and a smile on her face. However, with their oldest son and daughter in college, adding funeral and everyday expenses will be tough on them financially. If you could donate any amount, it will go a long way to ease the burden on a mother who has given so much of herself to help others.

Jayne is the epitome of kindness like no other! As a community, we are so grateful she and her family is part of ours! Please help in any way possible.
