Sussex Tornados Cheerleaders Travel Teams

Hi my name is Jo and I am fundraising for Sussex Tornados Cheerleaders (STC) Travel Teams. This charity is extremely important to us as a family. Our daughter Coco was picked to participate in the Under 16 Level 2 team to compete at the NFinity Finals in Orlando, Florida. Coco has been an athlete at STC since the summer of 2019, she was 6 when she first went to tryouts and has been hooked ever since. Coco's dream is to be a choregrapher/coach for a cheer team in Canada or USA. Being able to compete in Orlando this year will help give her the drive and determination to keep her dream alive.

As a parent of a cheerleader I have experienced over the last 5 seasons how much passion, blood, sweat and tears that goes into being an elite athlete in a cheer team. The hours they put into training sessions every week and improving their skills after being at school. Also the coaches who volunteer and spend there spare time in the gym teaching our children to be the best they can be, after doing a full time job and having families themselves.

On Saturday March 1st I will be taking part in the Winter Nuts Challenge in Dorking. Each lap is around 7km long with about 80 obstacles to battle over, through or under. Obstacles include climbing, crawling, wading and lots and lots of mud. This is the UK's oldest, most established obstacle race and they have never cancelled a race due to the weather........eeeek!

I would like to try and help raise what the travel teams finally need to get these athletes out to Orlando. These kids have been dreaming of this opportunity for years and now we have a chance to make it happen. Please help us get these kids out to America and please help support me through the Nuts Challenge Course by donating. This will be the first challenge back since having my neck operations, the first to remove a benign tumour in 2015 and the second to secure my neck in 2020.
