Crush Lymphoma-Fund 4 Patrick

Patrick Garrison is the most resilient and hardest working man I know.  Whether it's teaching a dynamic yoga sequence to classic rock music, or laying roof tiles in the hot Florida sun to daily training our Australian Cattle Dog, the man hustles and gives it 110% in all that he does.

What many of you don't know, three years ago, Patrick was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma.  

What is that you may ask?

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is typically a slow-growing form of non- Hodgkin lymphoma.

Common symptoms of FL include enlargement of the lymph nodes
 located throughout the body, with clusters of them in the neck, under the arms, the chest, abdomen and groin.

Lymph nodes filter lymph fluid, trapping and destroying potentially harmful bacteria and viruses.

How this shows up for Patrick everyday:
A decreased capacity for activity that is often accompanied by feelings of weariness, sleepiness or irritability, shortness of breath, night sweats, and weight loss. Patients with FL have no obvious symptoms of the disease at diagnosis.

The scary shit:
Follicular lymphoma is usually not considered to be curable, but more of a chronic disease. Patients can live for many years with this form of lymphoma.

Patrick's current situation:
- no health insurance due to cost and access unavailable through his employer.
- he has not seen a doctor in over a year due to the EXTREME expense of healthcare even with insurance.
- currently living in his van due to high costs of living in southern california. As a result, unable to get a full nights sleep due to unforeseen outside noise.
- anxiety and depression from all the above.
- takes care of a rescue australian cattle dog who is over protective and dog aggressive creating stress for Patrick every time he takes her out in public (she has a history of not being the nicest to others... she is just so cute though)

How YOU can support:
1.) Share your love and compassion for his current situation by donating what you can to support his quality of life and doctors visits.

2.) Attend his yoga classes regularly at Yoga Six Carlsbad and Solana Beach. The more people in class supports his paycheck and in return his ability to go to the doctor.

3.) If you have or know someone who had a guest house or a quite space for Patrick to stay the night with our dog Tabitha in North County San Diego, he would be able to get a quality night sleep and support his body with rest and recovery.
