COVID-19 PANDEMIC RELIEF to nurture the MIND & BODY:
Covid-19 Pandemic has disproportionately affected the poor worldwide in many ways. No jobs; no income; no food, no education & no end in sight. Schools have been closed for months. The poor children cannot afford online education or internet access. This digital divide imposed on the less fortunate is worsening the disparity between the affluent & the poor. Unless this Digital Divide forced on them is bridged without delay, poor children will lag behind in education, learning & fall way behind in academic pursuits. This will aggravate school-drop out, child labor, etc. Unable to secure sustainable jobs, the families sink deeper into poverty.
The 'International We Serve Foundation' (IWSF) has been distributing free (i) basic food supplies, (ii) surgical quality 2-ply face masks, (iii) portable solar lights, (iv) set of books, etc. to tribal families, orphanages and poor children in rural public schools in India, to alleviate many urgent & critical needs. Covid-19 pandemic has drastically increased the number of poor by millions in many parts of the world who require basic necessities.
Total Budget: US $ 125,000 (One Hundred Twenty Five Thousand only).
1) Bridge the Digital Divide: Each poor child receives one 4G enabled Android Smart Phone, SIM Card, Power Bank, Magnifier Stand & 11 months of Internet Service. x 500 poor children = US $ 89,237
2) Promote Reading & Literacy: A set of 10 books as a Small Home Library x 500 sets = US $ 6,944
3) Alternative Energy Source: One Portable Solar Light to help study in the hut after sunset x 500 poor families = US $ 5,347
4) Pandemic Protection: 2-ply Surgical Quality Face masks x 45,000 masks = US $ 6,250
5) Feed the Hungry: Starving children cannot learn. Basic Food grains for 2 weeks x 500 poor families = US $ 12,222
6) Delivery: Transportation & delivery US $ 5,000
Beneficiaries in rural parts of India: (i) 80 Children in an Orphanage (ii) 220 Tribal poor families (iii) 200 Poor students in rural public schools (iv) 15,000+ poor children & people to receive the face masks.
