Babatunde “Tunde” Akinloye, a devoted husband, amazing father, exceptional colleague, and dependable friend, was suddenly taken from us on Sunday, November 16th. His unexpected passing has left an unspeakable void in the hearts of his wife, April, and their two sons, Taj and Tayden. At just 8 and 6 years old, the boys deserve to still have their dad cheering at their games, taking them to weekly library visits, coaching their teams, and volunteering at their school.

Tunde’s warm spirit and bright smile touched people everywhere he went—at Disney Animation Studios, MACRO Studios, MAGIC Johnson Enterprises, Center of Hope Church, his sons’ school and sports programs, UCLA, USC, and throughout his community of friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Everyone who knew him recognized and admired his genuine heart. He was truly a gift.

Many people have reached out asking how they can support April and the boys during this sudden transition. In response, we created this GoFundMe as a simple way for anyone who feels led to help the family adjust to life without him.

Your support will help April navigate life as a newly single mother and ensure Taj and Tayden can continue the activities they love—science programs, space camp, martial arts, basketball, football, baseball, soccer, their annual Disneyland visit, and before/after-school care. We also hope to help provide grief counseling resources as they each process this heartbreaking loss and their new family dynamic.
