Help the Columbia Cyclones 18U Team Reach the USA Hockey National Stage April 2-6, 2025, Utica, New York!

Hello, I’m Trista McConegly, President of the Columbia Cyclones, and I’m thrilled to share that our 18U Columbia Cyclones team has just won the South Carolina State Championship in youth hockey for 2025! This incredible victory has earned this 18u team a spot at the USA Hockey National Tournament in Utica, New York, from April 2-6, 2025—an opportunity that our players have worked so hard for.

But now, we need YOUR help to take this team to the national stage.

While the boys have already done the heavy lifting of winning the state title, the costs of extending their season an extra month for nationals are significant. As a nonprofit youth hockey association since 2008, our goal has always been to make the sport affordable for families in the Midlands. With an entirely unpaid volunteer staff—from coaches to the board of directors—we rely on the support of our community to help our athletes succeed in big moments like these.

Here’s where you come in:

The estimated cost for a player to attend nationals is:

$1,500 per player to attend the five-day tournament (covering travel, lodging, food, extra practices, entrance fees, and other team-related expenses.)

The average cost for 1 hour of practice on ice is $350. This team must continue to practice for the entire month of March roughly 8 extra practices.

The total cost for this national journey is steep, but we know we can do it with your support. Whether you're a business or an individual, your donation will go directly toward helping this incredible team represent Columbia, South Carolina on the national stage.
