Climbing Kilimanjaro for a classroom

My name is Ally and I am a qualified Early years educator with a passion for supporting children of all stages and ages through a holistic approach in order to support them in achieving all that they can in this crazy life.

Those of you who know me will know that a HUGE part of my heart lies in Tanzania with the Teretta Foundation.

The Teretta foundation is a boarding school for primary school children in the Kilimanjaro area providing education to those who live there and also for those in the surrounding area who are in genuine need. Thanks to the amazing support we have received so far, in the last year Teretta Foundation has done huge work in helping secure land, build accommodation for 32 children and provides an education to 48 children in total from the ages of 4 to 9 years.

The Teretta Foundation is now home to 32 children who have come from huge areas of poverty and facing adverse situations, through no fault of their own it is simply due to where in the world they were born. 16 children also attend by day which means while being educated they are also guaranteed two meals a day.

The Teretta Foundation aims to support and change the trajectory of many children’s lives through education and support not only for the children but for their families and in time for the wider community.

This August I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for the second time in order to raise funds for the build of classroom which is vital in order to provide an education for many children who are on the wait list in the area surrounding the Teretta Foundation.
