We all take for granted ordinary days not realizing they are truly extraordinary until something changes. On Sunday evening, my dear friend, John Clarke, was working in the yard when he was stung by a couple of bees. No one, including John, knew he was extremely allergic and events took a tragic turn.
John loved music, humor, a big cold glass of milk, Duffy's hamburgers and most importantly, his family. His wife, Julie, and their 6 year old daughter were without question, his whole life. When Amelie was born, John came out of the room and said to all of us waiting, "There are a lot of babies on this floor, but I think we got the best one". He was right.
I have had the pleasure of knowing this family for the better part of 25 years and can tell you, Amelie and Julie are heartbroken. As they begin to move forward, we ask for your support in lieu of flowers. If all you can do is pass this along, or offer a prayer, thank you. It means so much.
