Cheer & Rock Photographer's Cancer Battle, Fight To Hit Zero
Donation protected
A recent cancer diagnosis has put one of my best friends, and one of cheerleading and dance's top photographers, at risk of losing his ability to work and provide for his family. Joe Helm has spent over 25 years capturing the heart and soul of the cheerleading and dance world. He is also a well-known portrait artist for rock music communities. Many of the action photos and portraits you've seen—or proudly purchased at major cheerleading and dance events over the last few decades? His. The Condition Hüman album cover, multiple merchandise designs, and photography for the Grammy-nominated band Queensrÿche? Also his. Joe has dedicated his life to his art and craft, but now, for the first time, it has to take a back seat so he can focus on getting better.
This GoFundMe aims to cover his piling medical expenses, lost wages, and ensure he has the time and support needed to heal after surgery and subsequent therapy. His family, which includes an Allstar Cheerleader at one of the country's top gyms needs their father by their side—not weighed down by financial stress but focused on fighting this battle and being there for the moments that matter most so he can get back in front of the mats where he belongs.
