It's hard to say the name Charlie without following it with ''and Kim.'' Charlie and Kim have been together since they were young and have been through so much together including Charlie's battle with cancer!
Charlie was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the beginning of 2019 and started chemotherapy shortly after. He has stayed positive through different medications and treatments, even when sick. In July, 2020, he was informed the chemo was no longer working but he might be eligible for a clinical trial. This month they went downtown to Chicago but were told there are no trials that he qualifies at this time. Charlie is still taking a chemo pill, at this time , however the side effects make him sick and keep him up at night, as well as they are not sure it is doing much.
While we pray that he qualifies for a clinical trial sometime in the near future we also want to do more.
THE MONEY FROM THIS FUNDRAISER WILL GO DIRECTLY TO CHARLIE FOR:
- Supplemental income for Charlie for work time missed due to sickness
- Supplemental income for Kim for work missed to care for Charlie and bring him to doctor visits
- Financial assistance if they get selected for a clinical trail and need to stay in downtown Chicago
- To ease the burden of battling cancer while also working full time
