On Tuesday, January 2nd our beloved mother Laura passed away after a 12-year battle with cancer.

The amount of love and support during this time has been amazing and we are truly blessed at how many lives she has touched.

People have asked how they can help and after thinking about what my mom would have wanted, I know she would want everyone to help my sister, Chanda and her family.

As I am sure most of you know, my sister has been my mom's primary caregiver for the last 4 years, especially during these last few months when mom's health took a turn. For the past several weeks she has gone with little sleep and the days before mom's passing, she had no sleep, just so she can press a button every 15 minutes to ensure our mom was not in pain during her final hours.

In order do to this, my sister lost employment opportunities, and they suffered a significant blow when my brother-in-law, fractured his back and has been on disability for almost a year. It has been mom's social security payments and Chris' disability that have been keeping them afloat during this time.

We know the house will have to be sold, but I made a promise to my mom to make sure Chanda and her family would be taken care of and I hope, with your help, I can do that.

Her services have been paid for in full by my husband and me, we do not want or need donations to cover that cost, but if you could help my sister and her family during this time, I know our mom would be truly grateful.
