My mom, Jill (Pike) Glunt, passed away on September 5, 2026, just three months after my dad, Jim Glunt, died on June 7, 2026. After losing both of my parents so close together, I am creating this memorial fund to help with Jill’s remembrance expenses and unpaid medical costs.
On September 28, 2025, my mom was rushed to the Emergency Department because of respiratory problems. She went on to spend the next 11 months fighting through multiple stays in five hospitals, three ICUs, and two skilled nursing facilities. Even through one urgent medical crisis after another, she held on with incredible strength. After my dad passed, she continued to surprise every doctor caring for her by rallying again and reaching a medically stable condition where she could take visitors and spread joy.
We are choosing to remember Jill with a joyful butterfly release and celebration of her life. On September 26, 2026, we will gather for her graveside service, share stories and memories afterward, enjoy a picnic meal, and release butterflies in her memory as a symbol of peace, release, and letting go of the unnecessary things that burden our lives.
So many people have asked how they can help. We truly do not need flowers. Your presence, your memories, and your love for Jill mean so much to us. For anyone who would like to contribute, donations will help cover the costs of her remembrance and the unpaid medical expenses left behind after her long fight.
There is absolutely no expectation to give. If Jill touched your life, the greatest gift is simply to remember her, share a story, or hug someone you love because you still can. If you are able to support this fundraiser or share it with others, it would be deeply appreciated.
