THE ‘SUPER MOMS’ BOOKS
The Super Moms children’s book collection is a celebration of how amazing it is to be—and have—a Super Mom. Each book will consist of beautiful, bold, and colorful illustrations featuring loving, unconventional families as they navigate difficult topics and unique challenges they encounter along their journey. The first book introduces Mavi, a 5-year old girl with contagious optimism and fearless curiosity who doesn't have a father, but that's never stopped her from living the most amazing adventures with her Super Mom, and invites us to meet her incredible group of friends, each having a unique, wonderfully unconventional family.
This GoFundMe aims to raise funds to cover the last round of illustrations needed to finish the first book. Contributions are considered 'pre-orders' and contributors will receive a copy of the first book upon its publication.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I’m a Creative Director living in New York City and Founder of Super Moms, an initiative that supports, empowers, and inspires single mothers—Super Moms—through their journey to help change the conversation and give a positive context to solo female parenting. As a single (and fabulous) mother of a 4-year old, I understand the unique challenges Super Moms face. That’s why I’ve been working on a wonderful collection of children’s books which aims to show how unconventional families are just as wholesome as traditional families, highlighting how each family is special in its own unique way.
On September 2019, I began my journey as a single mom and noted the stigma surrounding single mothers and the unique challenges we face. I started referring to single mothers as ‘Super Moms’, hoping it shines a light on all the amazing skills and strengths single mothers possess as we give in our all to make every day extraordinary. I started Super Moms to help single mothers navigate the challenges we face and help them embrace the marvels of being a single parent.
I've always done things differently, and this has never been more true than when it comes to single parenting, as every day I must overcome unique challenges to build a happy and loving home for me and my daughter. It is my goal to help every single and fabulous Super Mom discover the joys being a single parent. My hope is that the Super Moms children’s books brings both parents and children closer as they navigate the challenges and embrace the wonders of being a unique family.
