In his youth, Joseph was active and engaged in many pursuits. In high school, he participated in photography, band, the library squad, the Edison Light newspaper, the track team, Minor “E,” and the basketball team. He carried that same curiosity, discipline, and energy throughout his life.
A graveside service will be held at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735, on Wednesday, August 27, at 1:00 p.m.
Following the service, the family invites relatives and friends to a repass at the Rochdale Village Community Center, 169‑65 137th Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11434, to share memories and continue celebrating Joseph’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions in Joseph’s memory. Donations can be made online through his GoFundMe:
Joseph “Brock” Brockington will be remembered for his dedication to service, his deep love for family, and the steadfast way he supported those around him. His influence, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
