Casey O'Gorman is a talented motorcycle racer, and at only 13 years old I believe he is next British Moto GP hope. I first met Casey at a Pitbike practice night a few years back, I’ve raced bikes for the last two decades and rarely do I get passed in such a way, but along came Casey, aged 11. After following him for a few laps I knew he was special. The confidence and ability he had was something none of the other kids had, the kind you see when you watch racers at the top of their game, His throttle control and riding style was something else. I own a motorcycle shop in London called FWR and I instantly wanted to help this kid as a personal sponsor to provide some financial assistance towards things like tyres, fuel entry, practice night costs, bike parts and even a new engine for his bike. Fast forward a few years and Casey is now racing in the ETC championship in Europe with a Spanish team. His current team management does have some great sponsors onboard who are making this ride possible, but for him to perform at his best he must train as hard as his rivals. The European kids are riding 5 days a week on tarmac tracks at MX and at pit bike nights, so last week Casey’s Dad took some time off work and drove to Spain with Casey, his KTM 85 SM and a pushbike. They camped in the van to attend the Gasss School where Casey was set to ride kart tracks, flat tracks, super moto and MX. Sadly the little KTM broke a piston yesterday which has cost a little bit of their budget. Initially they had planned to be away for 10 days, but it is apparent Casey will truly benefit from the training that he's currently getting by staying out there a little longer to help him prepare for the season ahead. There are a few circuits Casey’s not yet raced at so I want to ask my biker friends if you could spare a couple of quid to put into this fund to help keep him out there a few more weeks. This money will be going directly towards Caseys training costs only which includes test days, fuel etc, and maybe the odd piston! As the Tesco saying goes, every little helps, and in this case it really would help! Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for the donations.
