En julio de 2024, Caro sufrió una fuerte caída que le provocó la rotura de un disco lumbar y una lesión severa en la zona S1-L5. La situación fue tan delicada que tuvo que ser operada de emergencia. Durante la cirugía, los médicos lograron retirar los fragmentos del disco dañado, pero solo quedó un tercio del mismo. El daño al nervio fue significativo, afectando la movilidad de su pierna izquierda y dejándole secuelas permanentes.

El camino desde entonces no ha sido fácil. Caro enfrentó un año muy duro: dolor crónico, movilidad limitada y un proceso de rehabilitación largo y constante para lograr una recuperación lo más funcional posible. Con mucho esfuerzo, logró volver a caminar sin bastón y retomar parte de su rutina, aunque con ciertas limitaciones y bajo un seguimiento médico permanente.

Sin embargo, en julio de 2025, comenzó a sentir un nuevo y preocupante aumento del dolor. Una resonancia reveló que los discos L3, L4 y L5 ahora están comprometidos, presionando el nervio principal y generando un dolor neuropático constante. Esta vez, la cirugía que necesita es aún más compleja: incluye la colocación de prótesis de disco, tornillos y barras para estabilizar su columna y evitar un mayor deterioro de su salud neurológica.

El objetivo de esta operación no es solo aliviar el dolor, sino prevenir daños irreversibles a su columna y preservar su capacidad de movimiento a largo plazo. Pero el costo es muy elevado y Caro necesita ayuda para poder cubrir esta intervención.

In July 2024, Caro suffered a severe fall that caused the rupture of a lumbar disc and a serious injury in the S1–L5 area. The situation was so delicate that she had to undergo emergency surgery. During the operation, the doctors were able to remove the fragments of the damaged disc, but only one-third of it remained. The nerve damage was significant, affecting the mobility of her left leg and leaving her with permanent after effects.

The road since then has not been easy. Caro went through a very difficult year: chronic pain, limited mobility, and a long, continuous rehabilitation process to achieve the most functional recovery possible. Through great effort, she managed to walk again without a cane and resume part of her routine, although with certain limitations and under ongoing medical supervision.

However, in July 2025, she began to experience a new and concerning increase in pain. An MRI revealed that the L3, L4, and L5 discs are now compromised, pressing on the main nerve and causing constant neuropathic pain. This time, the surgery she needs is even more complex: it includes the placement of disc prostheses, screws, and rods to stabilize her spine and prevent further deterioration of her neurological health.

The goal of this surgery is not only to relieve the pain but also to prevent irreversible damage to her spine and preserve her long-term ability to move. However, the cost is very high, and Caro needs help to cover this intervention.
