Remembering Krista & Buzz

For those who haven’t heard, my cousin Krista Kolowinski lost her battle with cancer on April 7th. She fought quietly and stoically for a year and a half. She was an old soul that cared for others more than herself and loved helping students be as successful as possible. She lived life her way and made no excuses for that. She will be missed dearly by so many.

5 days following her death, on April 12th, her dad, Dayton (Buzz) Kolowinski passed away after a short and valiant battle with renal cancer.  Uncle Buzz loved his baby girl and was always so proud of his kids and that carried right into his grandchildren. He never felt sorry for himself and figured he survived Vietnam, cancer (twice) and heart valve replacement that he was playing with "house money." He was a faithful and loyal husband to his wife, Donna Kolowinski for 50 years.

Both Krista and Buzz lit up a room and chances are if you met either one of them, you won't soon forget them. I am positive that they will continue making people smile.  The family wants to thank everyone for their love and support. The only reason we can carry on has been because of that support....We feel the love for sure!
