Camp Chef: From My Kitchen to Gaza’s Kids

Preparing food has always been my favorite love language.
Before the war, I found joy in the kitchen—joking with my mother, creating strange new recipes, while my siblings were my first and most loyal audience.
But when the war broke out, everything changed… I was left with barely any ingredients, and yet, I made sure to send a simple plate to my neighbors in the nearby tents.
You might wonder: how did I go from being a dental technician to becoming the “Camp Chef”?
This was always my dream, but Gaza’s reality never allowed it. So I turned my passion and my dream into a means of survival.
I wanted to raise money to help me escape—to save my life and my family’s from this hell.
My friends and I collected a small amount, but the border closed, and death swept through Rafah.
The dream of escape vanished… all that remained was displacement, fear, and the stench of death.
But my faith says: “If the world is ending and you hold a small seedling in your hand—plant it.”
So I did. I planted hope in the hearts of children, love into cooking pots, and life in the midst of ruin.
I turned my savings—meant for escape—into small recipes for the neighborhood children.
And slowly, destiny began to grow in my hands.
With every meal, the number of supporters grew, donations increased, and the children’s eyes began to shine with anticipation.
Today, every time I cook a new recipe, 500 children eat from it, 500 smiles, and 500 new hopes, born from flavor, warmth, and love.
My first campaign never reached its goal.
It was simply an attempt to feed my family and a few children, and to escape the nightmare of Gaza.
But it surpassed its purpose—God chose for me a greater mission, a noble one… and granted me a miracle I never planned.
Now, we begin a new campaign: the campaign to continue—
*Camp Chef: From My Kitchen to Gaza’s Kids.*
At any moment, I could be forcibly displaced.
They call it “voluntary,” but in truth—it’s another Nakba.
And if I am displaced, I will carry this mission with me… to any land I reach.
I will cook for children, wherever I go.
But I can’t do it alone. Only you can make the difference.
With you, I can plant smiles on faces worn down by fear and hunger.
With you, we can keep the flame of life alive in the hearts of those who have only known ashes.
Support my dream and my survival—
I always dreamed of becoming a chef, and that dream came true in the most beautiful way… through little children who love my food.
Because I believe food can be a message of love, a tool for survival, and the start of a new life.
