In September of 2015 my bestfriend and sister, Caitlyn, was diagnosed with a rare brain condition called Pseudotumor Cerebri, or Idiopathic Intracrainial Hypertension. Since then shes had several doctors appointments, specialists visits, lumbar punctures (spinal taps), and brain surgeries to help with her condition, all while working a full time job. In January of 2016 she had her first surgery, a VP shunt was placed in the right side of her head to help the flow of the spinal fluid. By the end of January they had to go back in for whats called a "Shunt Revision". She had a few months surgery free, then again in April she had yet another Shunt revision. Thinking this was going to be the last, she started another full time job. Unfortunately, to our surprise another surgery was in order, a ventricular stent was placed, to try to assist the shunt in keeping the pressure off her brain and optic nerves. As she healed she found herself unable to do many of the things she loved doing before. She found herself bed ridden most of the time and since the symptoms seemed to become worse, she was put on short term disability through her work. Although, she used every weekly check on paying off hospital bills and co pays, she recently found out the short term disability will be ending soon. This sent us all into a panic as in Novemeber we will find out if she will be having yet another brain surgery to remove the shunt. I'm asking you to give anything you can to help with medical bills, as theyr'e piling up & being sent into collections. If you don't have anything to give, please share this post in hopes of reaching our goals to get her out of medical debt. It would mean so much to myself and my family, and especially Caitlyn.
Thank you so much for reading,

Update* Caitlyn is no longer receiving short term disability through her work, and shortly after that ended, they let her go. Caitlyn will be seeing a Rheumatologist in the beginning of December & will meet with her Neurosurgeon again in January to discuss exactly what it is they will be doing with her shunt.
