Cade Wegener is not your typical little boy. He is one of the most gentle, compassionate, beautiful little souls you will ever meet. He is my cousin's son, and they have been through so much already. Now, the doctors are thinking the worst: Cancer. Not one person has come into contact with this young boy, and not been a better person for knowing him. He has touched more lives than any kid I've ever known, and his genuine love for all people is infectious. Cade has a following like I've never seen for a young kid. You see, Cade has down syndrome. But not once has he ever let that hold him back from doing what his heart was set on. He is a teammate on the Berryhill Chiefs football team, and not only is he the heart and soul of the team, he brings the encouragement and the high fives to each and every game. Not to mention the water! Their #1 jersey couldn't be worn by a more deserving kid! So now Cade needs our help. I know that there are thousands of people that just adore Cade, and if you have ever met him you would know why. He has yet to meet someone and not have some kind of impact on them. All he wants is to love, and to be loved. His innocence is unmatched, and his heart is incomparable.
Cade's Mom is my cousin, April Wegener. Her and her husband Chris have always been such loving, hard working parents that have always made their family their top priority. They have a healthy, Christian home where they have taught their children to love God, and to love people. And Cade does just that! I am setting up this account in hopes that we can show Chris and April the same support they have shown countless others over the years. I know everyone is praying, and they appreciate that more than we will ever know. But I want to take it one step further and give this remarkable family some financial support. While their baby boy lies in a hospital bed, they sit by patiently waiting, praying for a favorable outcome. There is no way I could work during this time if I were Cade's parents. I would be right by his bedside every second of every hour of every day. My life would go on an indefinite hold. Unfortunately, when our lives are halted by an unexpected illness or tragedy, the world continues to turn, and the bills continue to come in. Now, I am not fully aware of their financial situation, but one thing I do know is that as many people love this family, and as many "fans" as Cade has acquired over the years, we should not have a problem coming up with some money to help offset this time off for Cade's parents. I have never set up a Go Fund account, but I just feel in my heart it is the right thing to do for this selfless family.
Can you contribute? If not, that is perfectly fine, but please continue to pray, as you cannot put a value on answered prayers. However, if you feel it in your heart to assist this awesome family with a financial contribution, and show them the same love and support Cade has always shown others, then please do not hesitate to make a donation to this young, innocent boy's family. Cancer sucks!! And the people that go through it, including their families, are some of the strongest people there are. Yet here lies little Cade in a hospital bed, looking at possibly the worst diagnosis conceiveable, nevertheless he wears a smile, he laughs, and he continues on with the steadfast love that he is so well known for. If we all work together, we can come alongside this family in their time of great need, and hopefully alleviate some of the unneeded stress that they really need not worry about right now.
I know I can say one thing on Chris and April's behalf, and that is thank you all for the constant prayers that everyone has been sending up, and please continue to do so. And also, thank you in advance to everyone who is willing and able to contribute to their Go Fund Me account. 100% of these proceeds will go straight to the Wegener family, and you can rest assured, knowing that you will be helping one of the most deserving families you will ever know.
Thank you for your consideration, and may God bless this family in their time of uncertainty. And may God bless the ones who pray for them, and the ones who make a monetary contribution to help them when they need it most. We love you Cade! Stay strong little cuz!
