CAARE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Healing with CAARE Inc. 501(c) 3 needs $50,000 to fund it's free clinic and other community programs. CAARE founded by three sisters the late Dr. Sharon Elliot Bynum, the late Pat Amechi, and Carolyn Hinton (current Executive Director) in 1996 has been recognized by the Obama administration, First Lady Michelle Obama, and two US Surgeon Generals as leading community health agency. CAARE is a rare national gem located in our community. In 2014, the U.S. Surgeon General wrote: “For me, CAARE epitomizes the values behind the National Prevention Strategy (released by the Office of the Surgeon General [OSG] in 2011), which focuses on empowering individuals, families, and communities to live and spread the message of prevention. In one fell swoop, the organization supports all four of the Strategy’s foci: (1) healthy and safe community environments, (2) clinical and community preventive services, (3) empowered people, and (4) elimination of health disparities.” Now CAARE needs your donations and assistance to raise $50,000 to support the Jeanne Lucas free clinic (now open 1 day a week due to funding), rehousing for the homeless & Veterans, and free food for seniors programs. A tax deductible donation of: $20 provides 1 bad of food to feed a person for 2-3 days $50 provides medication for one person a month $100 provides transportation to 30 veterans and clients to local appointments $500 provides case management services $1000 helps a small family move home$1250 provides HIV tests for 100 people $5000 provides supplies/ operational support for the free clinic(eye, dental, etc.) for a month Every year CAARE needs to raise about $200,000 to maintain all the many programs which they operate some of which are unfunded. This funding will allow the CAARE staff continue to provide the needed programs to the Triangle community and beyond. I am asking you, to CAARE for the holidays --celebrate the holiday season by giving back to CAARE because they care all year around! We are collecting donations throughout the month of December.
