Hello! I'm Dora Taylor, Martha Sutherland's daughter. I'm organizing this fundraiser so my family can afford the medical bills from my mother's ICU stay, surgery, and recovery aftermath.

 

What Happened

 

On Monday, February 21st, my mother experienced a sudden and severe headache which prompted us to take her to the ER. After a CT scan, the doctors found a ruptured aneurysm (stroke) on the left side of her brain. A few hours later, she was transferred to the ICU at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend, where specialists evaluated her finding a subarachnoid hemorrhage. The following day, she underwent a procedure to close the aneurysm to prevent further bleeding.

 

We are incredibly thankful that my mother has no apparent neurological damage from the stroke or aneurysm. She is now resting and recovering from her procedures, and we hope to have her back home within the next 21 days. Although her condition remains stable, we are unsure what the future holds and how long the recovery process will take.

 

About my mom

 

My mom has worked at the Eugene Public Library for the past six years and has been an adult services supervisor for the last few months. She loves her job and her colleagues and finds her work fulfilling. At home, we have two dogs (Beanie and Scruffy) who are both missing her like crazy! My mom and I love thrift shopping in our off time, seeing movies at the Metro, and driving our little red stick shift around town.

-insurance copays for ambulance, ICU stay, operations, etc.
