Blake Slagle's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday, March 10, Blake Slagle, the son of Chuck Slagle and Kim Kraus, was involved in a single-vehicle accident. He was rushed to the Jefferson Hospital and then airlifted to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines where he underwent emergency surgery to address a life-threatening blood clot in his brain, skull reconstruction, and treatment for a severe head laceration. We consider ourselves fortunate to continue our lives with Blake by our side. He has defied the odds in what many of his doctors have deemed nothing short of a miracle.
While we're grateful to have Blake back home, the journey to recovery has only just begun. In the coming months, Chuck and Kim will face the financial burden of numerous doctor visits, physical therapy sessions, missed workdays, and ongoing medical expenses. We're reaching out to our friends, family, and community to come together and ease this burden, allowing Chuck and Kim to fully support Blake on his path to healing.
For those unable to contribute financially, your thoughts and prayers are just as valued. The overwhelming support from friends, family, and the community is appreciated, more than words can express. Thank you for standing with Blake and his family during this difficult time.
