Help Gwen Get a New Racing Wheelchair Frame ♀️
Hi, my name is Gwen and I’m 9 years old. I love wheelchair racing and train at least twice a week with my local club Velocity Racers. I’ve been racing for almost three years now and I absolutely love the freedom, speed, and friendships that come with the sport.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been able to use a racing wheelchair from my club but I have now outgrown that and although I am able to use another one of their chairs it is far to big for me, which makes it harder to push! I need a new bespoke frame that fits me properly so I can keep training and competing safely. A custom frame is really important in racing—it helps me go faster, stay in the right position, and avoid injury.
The frame alone costs almost £3,000, and a complete new racing chair would be nearly double that. To keep costs down, I’ll reuse the wheels and other parts from my old chair and the one I am currently using, but I really need help to fund the new frame.
Wheelchair racing means the world to me. It gives me confidence, keeps me strong, and one day I’d love to race at the Paralympics. Every little bit of support will help me get closer to that dream.
Thank you so much for reading my story and for helping however you can—whether it’s donating, sharing, or just cheering me on!
Love,
Gwen x
