I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of one of our neighbors—a senior couple who are facing an incredibly difficult season.

A few weeks ago, the wife suffered a serious fall and has remained hospitalized since then. Since the initial incident, she has experienced additional medical complications, resulting in an extended hospital stay and increasing medical needs.

Her husband has been the sole provider for their household for many years. He works tirelessly as a gardener to support them both. Once she is able to return home, he will also become her full-time caregiver, which will significantly limit his ability to work and earn income during this critical time.

The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward hospital bills, ongoing medical expenses, and essential living costs. By easing the financial burden, this support will allow her husband to reduce his workload and spend more meaningful time by his wife’s side—supporting her recovery, advocating for her care, and simply being present during this challenging chapter of their lives.

My hope is to remove at least one layer of stress so they can focus fully on healing, comfort, and adjusting to the care she will need at home.

I have been in direct communication with the administrator of the Lakewood Regional Crime Awareness, Prevention & Safety Group and have received approval to use the page as a resource to help raise awareness and support for this family. I was inspired by the compassion this community consistently shows, and I have personally witnessed the powerful impact that collective kindness can make.

Out of respect for their dignity during this sensitive time, the couple’s identities will remain private. These are deeply personal moments, and privacy allows them to focus on what truly matters—health, healing, and being together.

With Christmas approaching, my heartfelt wish is to bring them comfort, relief, and a sense of hope during an otherwise overwhelming time. Every donation, share, and kind message—no matter the size—helps remind them that they are not alone and that their community stands beside them.
