Bring Joy to Immigrant Families with Adventure Response
Donation protected
In response to the current administration’s harsh and inhumane treatment of immigrant communities—both in Massachusetts and across the country—many families are living with overwhelming fear, uncertainty, and, in many cases, trauma.
The *Adventure Response* is a compassionate, community-centered initiative designed to offer a brief but meaningful respite. It provides children and adults with the opportunity to experience a day of relief, one filled with play, connection, and joy. It is a chance to reconnect as families and as a community in a safe, supportive environment.
Set outdoors on a thoughtfully designed challenge course, the day emphasizes experiential learning, trust-building, and emotional healing through play and shared experiences. While this is not a comprehensive solution to the larger systemic issues these families face, it is *A response*—a meaningful and immediate action that we, as experiential educators, are uniquely positioned to offer.
The day will conclude with a resource-sharing session, where participants can learn about community services and support available to them.
The program will be facilitated by two experienced leaders who will co-create the curriculum in partnership with staff from a trusted community-based organization, one that already has strong relationships with the participating families.
