Dear friends,
If you, like me, are lucky enough to know John Champine, you love John Champine. There aren’t many who compare. On Mother’s Day he had a fall
in his home in Florida and when falling forward (we think) he struck the wall and severely injured his neck and his spine - in multiple places. Thankfully he had all feeling and movement in his extremities and still does today. This accident could have been much much worse. We are so incredibly grateful.
Why am I asking for support for him and his family? That’s a good and reasonable question. He has gone through two complicated neck surgeries in the last few weeks. He is a champion! He is a fighter! Because of this, he has entered the rehabilitation phase of his recovery. And so quickly! He’s got a long road ahead of him but he and his family need that road to recovery to be traveled in New York - so they can be by his side (literally and figuratively) and by sweet Sharon’s side. His kids and grandkids (Kristina (Shannon), Jay (Brooke), Sophia, Tyler (Jocelyn) and Isabel) and all of the other wonderful family and friends they have will be able to surround them with the needed love and support that will help him meet his rehabilitation goals and get home.
We are raising money to help bring him from his home in Florida to his HOME home in New York. He needs a medical transport which will be done by ground or by air. The details are being worked out now. If you can, please consider donating to help us make this happen. Please also feel free to share with others.
With love and thanks,
Sarah (and all those connected to the Champine’s)
