 My name is Brennan Conway, and I’m a Life Scout with Troop 422 in Smyrna, TN. I’m currently working on my Eagle Scout service project, which is to build a Mobile STEM Lab – “Mobi-I” - for the students at Genesis Academy in Nashville, TN, and I need your help.
Genesis Academy - part of Genesis Learning Centers (www.genesislearn.org) - is a private non-profit school that provides services for children and adolescents who are experiencing intense emotional, behavioral, developmental, and learning challenges or difficulties. At Genesis Academy, children and adolescents are given the chance to reach their full potential not only as students, but also as total individuals. The teachers and staff provide a wide range of academic, life skills, and therapeutic services, and my hope is to help them achieve this through my service project.
Mobi-I will contain quality STEM equipment and custom-made modules to assist the teachers at Genesis Academy in providing a variety of STEM-based activities chosen by the teachers themselves. In addition, because Mobi-I can easily be transported from classroom to classroom, it can be used by different teachers throughout the school year, eliminating the need for multiple classroom materials. The funds raised by this GoFundMe campaign will go straight towards the purchase of the equipment and materials needed to complete the project, and deliver Mobi-I to Genesis Academy this Fall.
