Braxton and Kristen's IVF Fund
Donation protected
Braxton and I have been struggling with infertility for a little over 2 years. We started our fertility work up in January 2017. After the initial fertility work up, I began taking fertility medications to help with ovulation. We elected to try fertility medications for at least 6 months before we proceeded with any fertility treatments. We did our first IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) in September 2017. In December 2017, I underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy to find out I had stage 2 endometriosis, which is one of the leading causes of infertility. My gynecologist advised us to "hit the ground running" in 2018. She was confident this was going to be our year. After 2 more failed IUI's, we were referred to a reproductive endocrinologist in Memphis. We saw him in March of this year. We began the work up to see if we were candidates for IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). After multiple trips to Memphis for testing, we went back on 4/11/18 to find out our test results. We found out that day that I not only have endometriosis but I also have a low ovarian reserve. We were told IVF was our only chance at having biological children and the sooner we get started the better. We were given a 40% chance of achieving pregnancy per egg retrieval and a 50% chance per transfer of achieving pregnancy. I was also referred to a gynecologic oncologist to rule out ovarian cancer due to calcifications on one of my ovaries. We went to see the GYN oncologist on 4/20/18. He said it was likely nothing and we would need to monitor closely over the next 3-6 months.
Infertility has been a huge burden on us emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, and financially. We have already spent thousands of dollars on fertility medications, doctors visits, fertility testing, fertility treatments, surgery, etc.
After spending the last few months in prayer regarding which route we should take (adoption vs IVF), we feel like God is calling us to pursue IVF. God has given us peace about this decision.
We have elected to start birth control in order to hopefully delay the spread of endometriosis which would in turn worsen our infertility.
The average cost of IVF per egg retrieval is $25,000-$30,000. Unfortunately, we do not have years to save for this since my ovarian reserve and endometriosis will only worsen. Therefore, we are humbly asking for your help. No donation is too small. We understand that not everyone will be able to make a monetary contribution to our IVF fund therefore prayers are accepted and equally appreciated.
We know that we will be paying for a huge bulk of this on our own, but if we can get our financial burden lightened a bit, it would mean the world to us and increase our chances of success. Thank you for visiting our gofundme page. Thank you in advance for any donations and most importantly for your prayers.
