Brave Brooks!

It was recently discovered that my nephew, Brooks, has a tumor wrapped around his spine. It is the result of a condition called NF1 which he was diagnosed with approximately two years ago. A couple months ago, Brooks was falling down a lot and having some potty accidents. This generated some concern which led my sister and her husband to get an MRI for Brooks. This is when the tumor was discovered. Since the initial MRI, Brooks has seen multiple doctors, had more tests, under went surgery to place a port in his chest and has already started chemo to shrink/eliminate the tumor. Chemo treatments are once a week for 90 minutes and the appointments can take anywhere from 3-4 hours. Brooks will receive the treatments weekly for the next 14 months.

I have started this go fund me page to help off set some of the expenses associated with Brooks’ treatment including increased medical bills, additional food and gas expenses and any other unforeseen expenses that may pop up. 

The outpour of love and support on  my sister’s family has been absolutely incredible and uplifting. Hearing from so many of you, some who have never even met my sister or Brooks, reminds me how strong and special the bond of friends and community really is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts, prayers, and any amount of financial support you can provide. No amount is too small.
