My name is Cory Clarke, born and raised in Baltimore.
I’ve watched this city grind, fight, and survive through everything — but there’s one thing we still don’t have: access to real, healthy food.
In too many parts of Baltimore, there’s nowhere to buy a piece of fruit, a fresh smoothie, or a low-sodium meal. We live in a city where liquor stores and fast food outnumber grocery stores, where your only options on the way to school or work are chips and soda. For years, we’ve accepted that — like that’s normal. But it isn’t.
Back in 2016, my mother introduced me to something simple that changed my life — green smoothies. At first, I thought she lost her mind. We weren’t the “health food” family. But I tried it. And over time, I started to feel the difference. My energy, my focus, my choices — everything changed.
That small decision, something I once laughed at, ended up shaping the way I see life, community, and purpose.
That’s what BodyMore Health is built on — the idea that change starts small but spreads fast when it’s built inside the community.
The Reality
Baltimore is in a food crisis.
According to Johns Hopkins, 1 in 4 Baltimore residents lives in a food desert — that’s over 125,000 people.
In West Baltimore, that number climbs even higher.
More than 28% of children live in food-insecure households.
36% of adults are obese, 12% have diabetes, and hypertension is one of the city’s leading causes of premature death.
This isn’t about bad habits. It’s about lack of access.
It’s about not having real choices.
You can’t build a healthy city when people don’t have healthy options.
What We’re Doing
BodyMore Health is my commitment to help change that.
Not by talking about it — but by building something real.
We’re starting with two small spaces on Liberty Heights Avenue in West Baltimore.
Phase One isn’t a café or a fancy store. It’s a foundation — a small production and fulfillment hub where we’ll make and sell our own health and wellness products.
We’ll start with what we can produce ourselves: herbal teas, bath teas, and natural self-care items.
We’ll sell locally and online, building awareness while raising the funds to open our first community wellness café.
This isn’t charity. This is ownership.
Every dollar raised helps create jobs, support small vendors, and make healthy options affordable and convenient.
We’re not waiting for someone else to fix the problem — we’re doing it ourselves.
What We Need
We’re raising $35,000 to fund Phase One of BodyMore Health.
That covers everything we need to start:
Leasing and renovating our first location
Buying equipment and packaging
Producing our first line of health products
Marketing, deliveries, and operating expenses for 90 days
This first phase will prove the concept — that Baltimore wants and supports better options.
The Bigger Picture
This is about more than smoothies and tea.
It’s about rewriting the story of Baltimore from the inside out.
It’s about making “BodyMore” mean what it should have always meant — your body, more health, more opportunity, more hope.
If we can change what people put into their bodies, we can change how they think, move, and live.
We can create a cycle of health instead of a cycle of sickness.
I believe in this city.
I believe in its people.
And I believe that if we build something for us — by us — we can change more than a menu. We can change a mindset.
