'Body in the Bath' - Help Fund a Student Short Film

Hi there! We are reaching out to tell you about a project we are working on: “Body in the Bath”, and how you can help bring it to life!

What is Body in the Bath?

Synopsis: “Three girls awaken after a house party only to find a dead body in the bath. Each retelling their versions of the night, they try to piece together the events that led up to this death. As the night goes on and further revelations come to light, will they find out who put the body in the bath?”

A murder mystery/psychological thriller, “Body in the Bath" aims to be a conversation starter whilst also addressing the growing epidemic of male perpetrated violence. It is the final major project of our degree. This will showcase what we have learned over the last few years, culminating into a film that represents our creative vision as student filmmakers.

We are aiming for $2500 Australian Dollars.

Where's that money going?

Thanks for your trust friend! That money is going to cover all sorts of bases for the production to ensure that principal photography goes smoothly. As well as to give us the financial freedom to create the best quality production possible. Let me describe how we plan to use your donation in the proposed budget.

The Locations: $1000 (40%)

Houses here in Perth aren't cheap, especially when we are booking them out for a small amount of time. We are conducting our location scouting on sites like AirBnB and ScreenWest. The base estimation looks to be around $1000. We're trying to find the best location both visually and financially.. Any funds left over from this will fill the gaps in other parts of the budget.

Actors: $450 (18%)

Because of the nature of the work we are doing, when we hire actors we are both usually under the agreement of TFP (Trade for Print). This, however, doesn't stop us from making sure that we give the utmost care to our talent. Funds here will provide actors with travel, on set care, and other miscellaneous expenses that we may need to cover over the course of filming.

Production Design: $450 (18%)

Our fantastic production designer Rylie Godier has previously worked on other short films before and has some props and tools that they can use. However, new props and costumes will be required for this shoot and this money will help finance that.

Catering: $300 (12%)

Students may be notorious for making poor food choices, however we are not going to force our bad habits on the cast and crew! We want to feed our cast and crew nourishing meals to help them get through production.

Misc: $300 (12%)

Fingers crossed, nothing goes wrong! But just in-case something does go wrong...
