This fund has aided in the recipients affirmation top surgery (thank you very much) and is now focused on the survival of the recipient. They need to raise funds to move in 4 months (November 2022)!! The housing market is trash and they live in the country, because it is unlikely to find roomates due to living in a predominently white environment and the saftey concerns as a black trans person,  they will need to move into a 1 bedroom apartment which will cost anywhere from $1100 - $1500 a month. They will need first and last months rent, cost for movers, and funds to stabilize them after moving. 
As of April 1st this fund has raised $5,000 which only covered gender affirmative surgey that took place at the end of March, which means we are trying to raise $15,000 for survival.

We are raising money to support a Black trans mentally ill, neurodivergent person who have been income insecure ever since they experienced antiblackness and violent hostility from their employers before ultimately being let go.

 

They have asked to remain anonymous to reduce the potential pushback from said employer, as they have impacted attempts at obtaining support in the past.

 

At the moment, these folks are surviving on Employment Insurance, which doesn’t cover their bills every month. A top surgery date has been a long time in the waiting and a deposit was finally made. However, they don’t have access to the remaining $4,995.65 needed for the surgery itself. This is a cost that is imperative, and without it they lose not only the $1,000 they’ve already put down, but the opportunity for a surgery date in any stretch of near future.

These funds will help with funding the top surgery cost of $4995.65, and with recovery funds. It will also help support with paying debts that have accumulated while one was in school and the other was unable to work due to mental distress from the previous traumatizing experience of their last employer.

 

This is a survival fund! It is necessary for these folks lives to be able to get surgery and live comfortably, mentally and physically.
