Jade's Journey

**Please read Jade's full story at the bottom**

As you all will know, Jade was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2024 and has had to undergo 2 operations removing the initial lump and then the lymph nodes in one arm as she was told the awful news that it had spread.
Due to her age, she has now started her Chemotherapy journey to give her the best chance of the cancer not returning.
Jade works as a Carer for a private company, which unfortunately means she is not entitled to long term sick pay.
This means, from her first session of chemo (24/03/2025) Jade has to claim statutory sick pay, which is less then a third of her normal wage. As you can imagine, this is extremely stressful on top of what the family are already experiencing.
We would like to make it as easy as possible for Jade, Lee, Mylee and Alfie by fundraising as much as we can to go towards bills & everyday life but also so that we can get Jade a top of the range wig for when she needs it- no pink tinsel wigs over here!

We know times are hard for everyone and Jade wouldn't want anyone to feel obliged to contribute- she is already nervous about us even starting this page but we keep reminding her just how many people she has around her supporting her!

The both of us will be completing some events along the way to push this page as much as possible but if you could spare a £1 or 2 we would really appreciate it so much. If there were to be any money left over at the end, it'd be fantastic to help them towards a big family holiday at the end to celebrate!

Thank you all so much

In October 2024 during one of many workouts, Jade told us both that she'd found a little lump in her boob and after we'd both had a little grope, she booked a GP appointment just to be on the safe side. Several appointments and a biopsy later she was told the news no one ever wants to hear- she has Breast Cancer. Absolutely shocking to the core. 33 years old. How does this happen?
Shortly after this in December she underwent a lumpectomy and they also removed a few lymph nodes to check it hadn't spread. Unfortunately, in December she was told that it had spread and they needed to remove a further 22 lymph nodes in her arm to prevent it from spreading even further. During this time, she was going to work as much as possible, looking after the kids and running the house, all whilst keeping this horrible diagnosis in a very small circle to reduce the risk of the children finding out. Despite going through such a huge ordeal, her only thought was not wanting them to find out until they really had to as she didn't want them to worry or be upset. In February 2025 she had the 2nd operation and successfully removed the lymph nodes... but, it was at her follow up that Jade was told the one thing she didn't want to hear through all of this. You need Chemotherapy. Although it hadn't spread further than the lymph node they had removed, because of her age there is a higher risk of the cancer returning and therefore they wanted to be on the safe side.
Although we both were thinking yes, give her it all to make sure this has 100% gone, deep down this was Jade's worse nightmare and we knew she was gutted. The constant side effects; fatigue, sickness, pain and of course, losing her hair were all the things she didn't want. And it also meant she had to tell the kids. Throughout every second of this journey Jade has been so strong and courageous, we are both in awe of her and how she has handled all the sh*t that has been thrown at her.
Now her Chemotherapy journey has begun! We have encouraged her all along to take as many pictures as she can and to write down any thoughts and feelings so she can look back and see how frickin' amazing she was through it all!

If you'd like to follow Jade on this journey she has created an instagram to document every part @jades_journey90. Please support ❤️
