Bizhan Alikhaani Heart & Lung Health Memorial Fund

Donation protected
With great sorrow - we (Jacqueline & Sadegh Alikhaani) share that our dear son and only child, Bizhan Alikhaani, passed away.
Memorial Services Date and Time to be announced and are pending due to Covid-related delays beyond our control.
Bizhan suffered from lifelong asthma and other severe chronic symptoms that advanced during the start of the pandemic and gradually worsened. While we celebrate his life and treasure our time with him, our family greatly mourns his loss. May his heartfulness and beautiful unique spirit live forever in the hearts and minds of family, friends and community.

We thank God that Bizhan leaves us with a new baby son also named Bizhan (see he and his son's photos on top and below).  We are asking for donations for a Memorial and Scholarship Fund to help benefit Bizhan's 11 month old son's care, education, and to help advance global awareness, education and research for Heart and Lung health via the American Heart Association and American Lung Association.

Any donation amount is welcome and greatly appreciated.
If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask that you share this post and keep our family in your prayers. We appreciate the kind words and outpouring of love that many have shared with us.

A  CSUN(California State University-Northridge) Graduate, former CADEM 39/46th AD Delegate, born and raised in Los Angeles -  Bizhan will always be remembered and cherished as a great son, friend and family member to many. As a first-time father, we will never forget the joy and pride on his face as he watched his little baby son take his first steps and call him Ba Ba. He loved being a new father to his baby boy and namesake who was born on Palm Sunday - his first birthday is April 5th.

The name Bizhan(pronounced Bejan / B'John) is a Persian name that means Brave/Hero/Conqueror - he very much personified this with his commitment to community, friends, and helping others. He joined with my husband and I in our tradition of serving as patient advocate community volunteers. He served as a healthcare & housing advocate and also helped out as a co-caretaker for his disabled aunt.

Bizhan was a good citizen and whenever he had spare time, he also served as an International IVCLA Citizen Diplomat to help promote international goodwill via multi-cultural awareness, outreach and education. Known for his personable, friendly, down-to-earth manner, he loved a good joke and also had a wicked sense of humor making him especially fun to be around.

He was fun-loving, adventurous, and enjoyed traveling and exploring international/multi-cultural music, food, arts & culture and traveled around the world to visit friends & family and often served as a collaborator, tireless and fun healthcare advocacy travel companion to me, Jacqueline Alikhaani, for years of volunteer advocacy with the American Heart Association, PCORI(Patient- Centered Outcomes Research Institute), the National Patient Advocate Foundation and others.

Bizhan was also quite the holiday backyard grill-master. He had planned to join my husband(Sadegh) and I and others  in starting a heart-healthy weekend Citizen Diplomacy cook-out grill-maestro youtube challenge channel series to help promote heart healthy eating which we plan to continue developing in his memory.
