Hi. It was recently disclosed to me that my children's "father" had sexually abused and molested for over ten years. We have reported the crime and he has been charged with four ciminal felonies. After his arrest, and even with a $250,000 bond set, he was able to be bailed out after only one night in jail.
Since he is my ex-husband now, I am forced to retain an attorney to fight for a change in visitation, order of protection, no contact, and possibly sole custody. My ex was responsible for the children's medical insurance, but now has lost his job, so we are faced with all medical deductibles and payments, for not only medical, but also the counseling that is now necessary for my kids. And without a job, I'm assuming the low child support that he was making will stop too.
This man has stolen one daughter's entire childhood, and now has destroyed my other two kids' innocence. The children are struggling emotionally and mentally, not being able to concentrate and focus in school and not being able to sleep well at night.
I am seeking the money I need for attorney costs, medical and mental health assistance for the kids, and whatever else they may need to survive this horrible trauma in their lives. The retainer alone for the attorney is $5000. I'm sure the legal process will go on for quite sometime, so I am anticipating a pretty high attorney bill.
