Bindi Needs a Biopsy
I adopted Bindi, known to all of her friends as the best, sweetest, and most affectionate Cattle Dog in the west on June 3, 2018. It was genuinely the happiest day of both our lives and it has been amazing to watch her blossom and grow from a skittish rescue who was afraid of her own shadow into a confident companion who loves camping, cuddling and dragging her mama up mountains every chance she gets. We’ve shared almost three amazing years of adventures and good health until she suddenly fell ill on March 1, 2021, and was diagnosed with acute liver failure with no known cause. Over the last few weeks we have tried various medications with minimal success, and still cannot determine what is causing her liver to fail.
The only way to get a definitive answer is to have a surgical biopsy performed, which is both terrifying and extremely costly. I have spent the last two years saving for an archaeological field school in Romania that I was supposed to attend this summer, and have already exhausted a large portion of that savings just trying to keep her stable with no answers. I am willing to sacrifice getting to attend this program if it means saving her life, but I am quickly running out of funds and I am desperate to keep my best friend alive. 100% of this fundraiser will be put toward her biopsy and covering any additional treatment my savings cannot cover. This dog helped me get through one of the hardest times in my life, I just want to do everything I can to help her get through this.
